Meth S., age 49, has been involved with her business sewing on her own in Battambong Province since 2006. Typically, she makes US$4 per day. S. and her husband work very hard all day to ensure a comfortable standard of living for their family. They are blessed to have four children: three of them are enrolled in a local school, and the oldest one is employed at a gas station. S.'s husband is a teacher at a public school in their village and makes approximately US$1 per day.
S. wants to take out a loan of US$1,000 US to purchase a new motorbike for her husband; and with the remainder, she wants to use it to repair her house. She hopes that a new motorbike will allow her husband to go to work much easier and thus generate more income for their family.
