Djiguène Bakhna 90 Group's story

The Djiguène Bakhna 90 group is a sub-group of the microfinance institution GFAP. It is composed of five members that live together and work in different fields like sales, bird breeding and the restaurant business. Seynabou is their president. She is the one raising her hand in the photo. She is 39 years old, married and the mother of a family.

Seynabou has been a merchant for more than five years. Her business is selling ready-to-wear, fabric for women and handbags. She starts her day at 9am and ends at 6pm. She is requesting a 100,000 CFA franc loan so she can honor an order for handbags and women's ready-to-wear clothing. She is in great demand in her district because of the quality of her merchandise. To help her husband, Seynabou pays for the electricity and water bills. She wants to have a store to be able to display her merchandise and allow her clientele to have a large range of choices, and even to buy on credit it they need to.
