The Imani group is composed of 5 people who have been running a small store in their village outside of Dodoma called Ipagala. Swahili is the main language in Tanzania, and Imani means "faith" in Swahili.
Dodoma is one of the largest towns in Tanzania which has recently been named the capital of the country. However, currently much of the Tz government still resides in Dar es Salaam near the coast.
Those in the villages surrounding Dodoma are very poor and have no means of transportation other than walking. For this reason, it is very important that shops open up inside the villages so that the villagers do not need to walk far to get supplies.
Mathayo with his group they have retail shop selling Sugar, soap,cookng oil, used clothes, rice pens and other items. The business is making profit which supporting their families paying school fees for their Children, medication, food and clothing.
If they can get the loan they will be able to get more profit for pay back the loan and more profit for their own family use.
