Eoum Y., age 35, has worked for a local garment factory in Takeo Province since 2003. Typically, she makes $2 US per day. Y. and her husband work very hard all day to ensure a comfortable standard of living for their family. They are blessed to have a four-month-old child. Y.'s husband is a motor-taxi driver who makes approximately $3 US per day by providing transportation services to local people. Y. wants to take out a loan of $800 US to purchase a new motorbike for her husband, as his current bike is in bad condition and consumes too much gasoline because of its age. She hopes that a new motorbike will allow her husband to work more and thus generate more income for their family. This picture features Y.'s husband, as she was not available at the time it was taken.
