Balikyegomba Kikonge Group's story

Harriet, age 36, is a resident of Kagadi, Uganda and belongs to Balikyegomba Kikonge Group, where members guarantee one another to access a group loan. She is married with three children aged 13, 10 and 7 years, who are all attending school.

She is a a business woman as well as a committed farmer, working eight hours a day. A lot has been achieved for the good of her family. She started a business trading in used clothes with the aim of boosting the family income to meet the day-to-day expenses like education needs. The business has worked for her as she operates from rural areas where competition is not so high and now is counting four years of experience with still a desire to expand further for good results. However, she is challenged by a small capital base and it is because of this that Harriet is requesting a loan to add stock for young and old, girls and boys used clothes to sell.
