She has spent 15 years producing handicrafts in her home, which is located in Caserío Xetinimit in the town of Nimasac, in the department of Totonicapán, Guatemala. At present, her clients’ demand is growing, but her economic conditions are not sufficient for her to be able to increase her capital. For this reason, she came to Asociación ASDIR to request a loan, which she intends on using to buy more raw materials. In this way, she will be able to increase her sales and have a better quality of life.

La Señora Floridalma B. cuenta con 47 años de edad, es Casada de oficios Artesana, “Elaboración de Calzado”, habita junto a su Esposo y hijos , ella lleva 15 años en la Artesanía en su residencia que se encuentra en el Caserío Xetinimit de la Aldea de Nimasac, del departamento de Totonicapán, Guatemala, actualmente la demanda de su clientela a crecido, pero las condiciones económicas en que se encuentra no son suficientes para que ella pueda aumentar su capital, por tal razón acudió a la Asociación ASDIR, a solicitar un préstamo, con la intención de comprar más materia prima y de esa manera poder aumentar sus ventas, y tener mejores condiciones de vida.

ASDIR (Asociación de Desarrollo Integral Rural - Association for the Development of Rural Communities) is a community-based organization that works to promote development in the villages and communities where it serves. It was founded in 1999 in the village of Nimasac, Totonicapán Department, by a handful of local men and women to support community projects and group loans. Today ASDIR has 5 offices across 3 departments (Totonicapán, Sololá and Suchitepéquez) serving more than 6,000 clients, most of them in rural communities.
