The man shown in the picture is Mr. Orm S. A., age 32, who lives with other family members in Banteay Meanchey Province. He is currently a local electronics repairer. He repairs his neighbors’ televisions, CD Players, and generators that are broken.
Orm S. A. is married with four children: his first two children are employed and the other two are married and have started new family homes. His wife stays at home to be responsible for cooking meals for the family.
Orm S. A. is looking for a loan to use as capital to buy additional tools to better support his electronics repair service.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
