The “Alternative” cooperative bank has been in existence for eleven years. It meets in Los Andes, located in the city of El Alto.

Currently, Francisca C. is the president of this group. She notes that the group members work together, are prompt, and get along like sisters. Group members undertake different types of activities such as the sale of shoes, plastic bags, making and selling of prepared foods, and carpentry.

The majority of the members knit traditional sweaters, socks and gloves. The coming winter cold will ensure that their sales grow, and for this they need funds to buy raw materials.

La asociación comunal “Alternativa” tiene once años de vida, se reúne en el centro focal Los Andes ubicado en la ciudad de El Alto.
Actualmente Francisca C. es la presidente de este grupo, menciona que el grupo se caracteriza por que entre ellas son solidarias, cumplidas y se llevan como hermanas.
La asociación tiene diferentes actividades como ser, venta de zapatos, bolsas plásticas, elaboración y venta de comida, una de ellas es carpintera, pero la mayoría de sus integrantes se dedica al tejido artesanal de chompas, medias y guantes. Con las bajas temperaturas del invierno tienen la seguridad que pueden incrementar sus ventas, para este objetivo necesitan capital para la compra de materia prima.
