A loan of $5,500 helped a member to stock up on fish to resell.

Samuel Group's story

Alya is a hard-working businesswoman and president of the solidarity group called Samuel. She is a client of MFI Hekima, aged 52, a widowed mother of four children who all are or have been in school. She has been selling salted fish in a local market for 31 years. She wants to stock up on fish to expand her business.

This is her first loan after she sold her field. She hopes to pay school fees and feed her children. In closing, she thanks Hekima and its partners for the support they give to entrepreneurs who are not served by conventional banks.
