Fozia baji is a wife of Muhammad Iftikhar who has lived in a city named Lahore, Pakistan, for the past 10 years. Lahore city is famous for its historical places and for Punjabi foods. She is a very lively person by nature. She never fights with anyone and keeps a smile on her face all the time. She is a seamstress and sews clothes for her neighbors to earn income. Her income gives her confidence to lead an independent life. She is married to Muhammad Iftikhar who has been an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle) driver for the past 3 years. He earns 350 to 400 pak rupees per day. Fozia baji is applying for a loan to repair his auto-rickshaw because repairing it has become essential.

She is the group leader of four other women from her locality. Safia baji and Kalsoom baji each want a loan to buy motorbikes for their bike rental businesses. Asia baji wants a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop. Parveen baji wants a loan to buy electrical supplies (wires, switch boards and switches) for her electrical supplies selling business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
