Salamatu is a 32 year old, single young woman. She lives with her family at Sefwi, in the western region of Ghana. She is a food vendor and sells rice with gravy stew at the community where she lives. She started her operation about four years ago to take care of her home. Her food production is on a low scale because of inadequate funds to support her business. She wants to use the loan to buy more meat, vegetables and bags of rice to increase her efficiency to produce in larger quantities. She believes this will help expand her business and allow her to raise more income to support and finance her business growth. Currently she finances her food preparations with the sale of cosmetics.
