Elizabeth is 52 years old, married, and is the mother of six children: one is currently in school and the others are independent.
Elizabeth is a trader. She trades in lace materials, textiles and clothing materials. She buys stock from the central market of Kumasi and sells through hawking (going door-to-door). Lace materials are very useful for room and office decorations.
However, for lack of adequate working capital, Elizabeth buys only a small stock of lace materials. With the loan, she wants to purchase lace materials and textiles in bulk. She believes the loan will enable her to grow her business to the expected level. She hopes to use part of her profit to provide her children with a quality education.
