Kit S., 39, is married and has five children. She produces and sells Cambodian noodles at her house and makes a daily income of $4 US. Her husband raises pigs for piglets to be sold and makes an income of $2 US per day. S. has three school-aged children. The other two children dropped out of school and are still unemployed, but they are helping with the family businesses.
S. is asking for a loan of $800 US to buy rice for reselling and feed for the pigs they are raising. She hopes that she will be able to increase her income because of the expected boost in production she will get from her investment of the loan.
