Osei is 36 years old. He is married with four kids. Three are in school. He is a taxi driver and has been doing this for the past six years. Taxi driving has been his major occupation and the main source of livelihood for his family. He picks up passengers from the local station and drives them to nearby towns for a fare of 50 pesewas (0.5 cedis) per head. However, his business is in crisis because his car has broken down and he needs money for repairs. He requests a loan to maintain his taxi car to resume his business to make income to support his family and get his kids back to school. He belongs to a community group called Fervent Trust. Members guarantee each others loans and apply peer pressure to repay the loans.
