V. is a Cambodian farmer who has been working in this sector in the village of Ptas Rong for more than nine years. Her husband helps her in the farming activities. She is aged 28 years and has given birth to three children who are of school-age and under her care. V. will use this loan to add to her savings and buy a plot of neighbor’s farmland located near her house. she will use this land to grow a various kinds of vegetables for sale. Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
