N. Phally, 38, has been involved in a grocery business for nine years in PhN. Penh City, with an income of $10 per day. Her husband is a motor-taxi driver, with a daily income of $5, who usually stays at a nearby market to provide transportation services to his customers. Together they have three children: two of them are at school, and another one is a phone repairman.
Phally is really satisfied with her grocery business because she can earn a fair income to make a good living. So she has made up her mind to borrow $1,000 from Kiva to expand her inventory of goods in her grocery business. She hopes her two children will be able to finish their high school and study at a good university.
