Alejandro has created a good life for himself and his family by selling Italian jewelry to customers throughout New York City. He first began to sell jewelry with his brother and later began selling on his own. He travels throughout the city to doctors' offices, hospitals, private offices, and other establishments where he has built up a loyal client base. His clients often call him to see if he has anything new in.

When he first began his business, he borrowed money from friends to build up his inventory. He once tried to get a loan from a bank but was turned away. Alejandro’s first loan from ACCION USA was to establish his credit; he was able to repay it on time and has now taken a second loan. With his loan he is purchasing more inventory--rings, chains, bracelets, pendants and watches, and some precious stones as well.

While Alejandro feels that money and happiness are not connected, he has created a stable business that has allowed him to accomplish both his dream of small business ownership and providing for his family. Alejandro's son currently attends university and with his small business he supports him as much as possible.
