Julieta D. is 19 years old and blessed with three children. She is married to Roque D., a plaser (a gold miner using the traditional system of mining). She sells vegetables and bananas.
Julieta is a hardworking mother. Everyday, she peddles her vegetables and bananas in her neighborhood and nearby villages. Unfortunately, the income is not sufficient to provide for the needs of her family. She wants to expand her business by adding some varieties of vegetables. She is planning to apply for a loan from HSPFI (a Kiva partner) amounting to Php 5, 000. This will give her a higher income and help fulfill the demands of the customers. With this, she can give the family a good and comfortable living. She is hoping that Kiva lenders will grant her application.
