Mostly living in extended traditional families, the women of the Djiguiya 2 group are all married and have an average age of 38 with, on average, 7 children. They reside in the village of Diossébougou, in the rural community of Koumantou (Sikasso region, Republic of Mali).

They met through farming or through being related to each other. They cultivate more than 6 hectares each season with diverse crops (maize, peanuts, sorghum, native millet, potatoes, etc.). In order to enliven their relationships and increase their agricultural productivity, these women decided to join the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso. They are on their third rural loan and both the preceding loans were correctly reimbursed.

This loan will be used to buy 20 "daba" hoes for planting and weeding, 50 kg of peanut seeds and 12 sacks of fertilizer (that is, 4 sacks of complex fertilizer and 8 sacks of urea), all this with the intention of cultivating 1.5 hectares of peanuts, 3 hectares of sorghum, and 2 hectares of native millet. The products will be purchased from the wholesalers in Koumantou. The expected yield is 1 ton 155 kg of shelled peanuts, 7 tons 500 kg of sorghum and 4 tons of native millet. After the harvest, the produce will be sold retail or wholesale, for cash, at the markets of Bougouni and Koumangou to a clientele composed of men and women.

They each expect to make a profit of 50,000 F CFA at the end of the planting season, which will be used to support their children.
