Niagnéguéton 6 is a group of married women from the Sinsina Sesso hamlet of the town of Koutiala, Sikasso region, (third administrative region of the Republic of Mali). They live in big extended traditional families with their children, husbands, parents- and sisters-in-law, etc. They have an average age of 33 and at least 4 children each. They excel principally in the cultivation of peanuts and millet.

In the intention of making their agricultural businesses profitable, the members of the Niagnéguéton 6 group decided to join the loan program of Soro Yiriwaso 4 years ago. After having correctly reimbursed the three preceding loans, they are now on their fourth rural loan.

The present loan will be used to buy minor agricultural material, a sufficient quantity of peanut and millet seeds, and entrants, in the big open-air market of Koutiala. After the rainy season, the harvests are stocked for a certain time so that they gain in value before being sold at the big market of Koutiala and in the surrounding markets, retail or wholesale and for cash, to a clientele mostly coming from the big cities.

The members of the Niagnéguéton 6 group each expect to make, after their agricultural produce has been sold, a profit of 80,000 F CFA which will be used to reimburse the loan and cover current family expenses.

PREMIER ET DERNIER FEED BACK

Entrepreneur: Niagnéguéton 6 Group
Location: Koutiala, Mali
