Stella Y. is 30-year-old mother with a child who is going to start school. She believes hard work and dedication are the primary antidotes to minimize poverty. As such, she is very serious with her business. Stella has been very resourceful to her family.
Four years ago, Stella started a business of trading food stuff, like plantain. Her major market is the greater Accra of Ghana. She would like a loan to buy a larger supply of plantains to serve her customers throughout the season. In the face of increasing prices due to the current food crisis in the country, she believes a loan can help her buy bulk plantain from farmers to eliminate the high prices from middlemen. Stella belongs to a village bank called ‘Yewoha Nhyira’ that means Jehovah’s Blessing.
