Akwasi
Akwasi A. is a 49-year-old married father with three children. Presently one child attends the senior high school. Akwasi lives with his family in Dorma which is in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. Dorma Ahenkro is a community you would love to visit because of its serene atmosphere and the unity that exists among the people who live there. It is a farming area and the common thing that can found there, apart from the food crops they cultivate, is the use of bicycles. Almost everyone owns a bicycle which they ride to the farm, to school - almost everywhere. Akwasi is a professional bicycle repairer and he also sells bicycle parts. He has been in this business for the past 6 years and this is how he supports his family.

Akwasi travels to the nearby town of Kumasi to purchase his bicycle parts. He will use the loan to buy more bicycle parts so he can better stock his inventory to avoid traveling everyday, and have more parts on hand to service his clients. With the support of a loan he believes he can better provide a quality education for his children. He belongs to a village bank called ‘‘Hwe die Nyame Aye’ which means See What the Lord Has Done.
