Akif K. has dedicated himself to raising sheep since 2000. He is a married father who supports his one daughter. His wife also helps him with the business. Akif is faced with the need to purchase more sheep. The animals Akif raises are sold to farmers. To acquire the animals, Akif has come to AqroInvest to obtain the necessary credit so he can continue to maintain his dear home.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
