The bakery is called “Elaboración de Panes.” Her children are also bakers. For the past 12 years she has been developing the business 'Elaboracion de Panes' in her home. It is located in Paraje Chichaclan del Cantón Paquí in the Totonicapán area of Guatemala. Recently, demand from her customers has grown. However, because of the current economic conditions, it is difficult to build up necessary capital. For that reason she approached Asociacion ASDIR for a loan. With this loan she will buy more materials and will be able to increase her sales. By doing this, she hopes to improve the lives of her children and better the conditions in which they live.

Doña Micaela G. cuenta con 46 años de edad, es casada de oficios Panadera, “Elaboración de Panes” cuenta con un taller de 1hormo, habita junto a su esposo y con sus 3 hijos, ella y sus hijos se dedican al mismo oficio cuentan con un empleados para la misma actividad, lleva 12 años de elaborar Panes en su residencia que se encuentra en el Paraje Chichaclan del Cantón Paquí , del departamento de Totonicapán, Guatemala, actualmente la demanda de su clientela a crecido, pero las condiciones económicas en que se encuentra no son suficientes para que el pueda aumentar su capital, por tal razón acudió a la Asociación ASDIR, a solicitar un préstamo, con la intención de comprar materia prima y de esa manera poder aumentar sus ventas, esperando también poder sacar adelante a sus hijos, y tener mejores condiciones de vida

It was founded in 1999 in the village of Nimasac, Totonicapán Department, by a handful of local men and women to support community projects and group loans. Today ASDIR has 5 offices across 3 departments (Totonicapán, Sololá and Suchitepéquez) serving more than 6,000 clients, most of them in rural communities.
