Jaime was born in Namaacha, a town on the border of Swaziland. He is 32 years old, married, and the father of 4 children with ages between 4 and 12 years old. The three oldest are in school, and the youngest goes to day care.

Due to poor financial conditions Jaime was only able to finish the 7th grade, and his parents were not able to pay for high school. Years later he began crossing the Swaziland border to sell contra band products, and little by little he collected enough funds to begin a more legitimate business. He started exchanging currencies, which was an activity that had a positive impact.

With the help of his father who lives in Chokwe, he began working in agriculture and was sent all of the supplies and agricultural instruments. He has planted mainly tomatoes, cucumbers, and sweet potatoes. He has 4 employees who each earn 1,000MT per month, and by investing a maximum of 30,000MT he receives an income of 20,000MT.

Due to the lack of a market he has to rent a car to transport his products from Chokwe to Zimpeto, and he pays 3,000MT each trip. Jaime is not able to save any money because besides his children he is also responsible for his mother who lives in his house he is constructing.

This is Jaime's third loan with Hluvuku and with Kiva. The first two were used to purchase construction materials, and this loan of 15,000MT will be used for the same reason. He is confident that he will be able to pay off the loan before maturity and request another loan so he can strengthen his business.
