Cecilia B. is forty-seven years old. She is married and has given birth to two sons and three daughters. According to her, one of her daughters is currently in junior high school, while the rest attend senior high school. Cecilia lives with her children and husband in a rented apartment in the busy fishing/commercial town of Mankessim, near Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana. She works very hard to help her husband provide for their family.
Cecilia is a baker. She sells most of her bread to retailers and beverage sellers, but she also hawks the bread in her community. She procures bags of flour and other ingredients from the local market. Cecilia has run this business for over fifteen years and she wants a loan to procure bags of flour in bulk. She hopes to expand her business and give her children the best education she can afford.
