Sinoun
Ms. Sinoun U., 33, is single and lives with her parents and her brother, who is an electrician. The family lives in a small village across the Mekong River about 15 kilometers from Phnom Penh.

Sinoun has been a silk weaver for fifteen years; it’s a skill she learned from a neighbor. She sells her finished products to the middleman in the village who then takes them to sell at the market in Phnom Penh. Her mother is a farmer; besides farming she also assists her daughter to spin thread.

Sinoun is requesting her first loan of US$ 400 to purchase silk materials for her silk weaving business.
