Santos Daniel is from the Poxlajuj community in the state of Totonicapan. When he was a child he learned how to weave, operating a weaving machine. 10 years ago he opened his own business with a small shop and two employees, making tablecloths and shawls that he delivers to Guatemala City. Today he is making traditional skirts for women for delivery in Salcaja Quetzaltenango and other towns. Today he needs a loan to stock his supplies.

Santos Daniel es de la comunidad de Poxlajuj del departamento de Totonicapan desde niño aprendio el arte de la tejeduria siendo operario, hace diez años puso su propio Negocio con su pequeño taller y con dos operarios en la elaboracion de manteles y chalinas que las entregava en la ciudad de Guatemala, hoy en dia esta elaborando cortes tipicos especialemte para damas ya que la entrega en Salcaja Quetzaltenango y otros pueblos hoy necesita de un credito para surtir sus materiales.

About Asociación ASDIR

ASDIR (Asociación de Desarrollo Integral Rural - Association for the Development of Rural Communities) is a community-based organization that works to promote development in the villages and communities where it serves. It was founded in 1999 in the village of Nimasac, Totonicapán Department, by a handful of local men and women to support community projects and group loans. Today ASDIR has 5 offices across 3 departments (Totonicapán, Sololá and Suchitepéquez) serving more than 6,000 clients, most of them in rural communities.
