Kwabena B. is a forty three year old married man and a father of three daughters. The eldest daughter is in senior high school, the second in primary school and the youngest has yet to start school. His wife is a hard working woman. She is a trader and trades in food stuffs. Kwabena lives with his family in a rented apartment in a town called Takorase. Takorase is a farming and a trading community in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
Kwabena deals in raw gold mined from the ground. He buys the gold from the young men who are into the mining activity in his community and sells it to refiners in other towns. He sometimes refines the gold himself to add value to it so as get a good selling price. Kwabena has been in business for ten years and wants a loan to procure the raw minerals in bulk. He hopes to give his children the best education he can afford.
