A Kompong Chnang Resident, K. Sina is 29 years old and lives with her 40-year-old husband, Khem Phat, who is a teacher at Soramrith high school. She works hard as a grocery seller and earns a daily income of $3.50 while her husband earns $4 a day. They have two kids and have monthly expenses that are a bit high comparing to their current income. K. Sina is optimistic that if she takes the second loan before the Khmer New Year, it will be possible to buy more goods such as rice, orange juice, beer, and gasoline for her store and to sell it well because the store is conveniently located in the center of the village, and it has been open for 3-4 years already. As a result, her income will increase due to the plentiful amount of the goods sold. Moreover, she is now trying to save more money and pay everything in order to newly build a house. (K.
