Irene is 46 years old. She lives with her husband, with whom she's had one daughter. Their daughter lives and studies in the city, while Irene and her husband stayed in the region where they were born, in order to work as farmers. Her husband works out in the fields, while she prepares lunches and goes to the farms to share them with the laborers. Because of how difficult it is to work the fields, they planned to have only one daughter, and with their earnings they gave her an education. She is now a well-known cosmetologist in the city of Tarma. Her parents, now by themselves, have few expenses, so they don't sow as much seed as in previous years. They cultivate potatoes and peas. In addition, Irene spins lambswool and uses a neighbor's loom to weave blankets and ponchos to guard against rain and cold. Many people in the area order yarn from her or buy her ponchos, so she has some extra income and is very happy because she enjoys what she does. This is her fourth loan from MFP. She is the president of her community bank, and during her term has proven to be very responsible with her payments and with the responsibilities she has. The money requested is for the purchase of fertilizer for her potato fields, and the rest will be used to acquire lambswool and dyes for the wool, to produce many colors.

Teje diversas chompas, tapetes y colchas.

Entrepreneur: Irene
Location: Tarma, Peru
