The significance of ALIDé in the local language of Bénin, Fon, is "there is always a pathway for the poorest of the poor. Bénin is a small West African country next door to Nigeria; the GDP of its inhabitants stands at US$ 1,500. Mireille Réside au quartier fidjrossè un quartier populaire de la commune de Cotonou, Capitale Économique du Bénin. Mireille vend les produits cosmétiques et les vêtements. Mireille a eu deux crédits de la part de ALIDé grâce auxquels elle a élargi son activité à la vente de chaussures et bijoux. Aujourd'hui, Mireille veut renforcer son fonds de roulement et développer son activité. C'est la raison pour laquelle Mireille sollicite un troisième prêt à ALIDé.


La signification de ALIDé en langue locale du Bénin, le Fon, est « un chemin existe toujours pour les plus pauvres ». Le Bénin est un petit pays de l’Afrique de l’Ouest à coté du Nigeria où le PIB par habitant est à $1,500. ALIDé offre les prêts spéciaux de 0% d’intérêt aux personnes très vulnérables et elle est dans un groupe qui lance bientôt un programme de la micro-assurance santé pour les bénéficiaires de micro crédit.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late.
