Agamed M. is a fifty-three year old trader who owns his own food store where he sells a variety of goods, including cookies, sweets, pasta and beverages. Agamed is married and has five children. He tries very hard to provide for all of his family's needs. Being in this business for more than fifteen years has contributed to his success. People in the village know his store very well and always come back again because Agamed is very friendly and polite with customers.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
