Alifali M. is a shop vendor who sells a variety of goods including women's clothing, textiles and kitchen articles. He has more than fifteen years of experience in this field. He reached his original goal two years ago when he realized his dream of building his own store. His one son studies at school, and Alifali dreams of providing him with an excellent education. To continue the growth of his business, Alifali applied for a $2000 loan with the loan term of fifteen months.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
