Teymur A. is a 31-year-old trader who sells goods for home repair. He sells a wide variety of goods, which is why his store is always full of customers. Teymur's business, which he's run for the past four years, is the sole source of support for his wife and his two adorable daughters. The shop is his family's only source of income. Teymur has applied for a $3000 loan so he can diversify his store and increase the number of items he stocks.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
