We have finished reimbursing the first loan that you gave us. We are very pleased about that and have come to ask you to renew the loan. With the sum you loaned us, we managed to work the whole year and we were able to pay our children's school fees.

As you know, our eco-village is off in the country and hard to reach. Thanks to the Kiva loan we were able to face our children's school year with serenity and less anguish. The profit that we made from our former business sustained us.

Although we did not manage to put by any savings, we were at least able to cater for the basic needs of our families. Thus, we intend to take up a business selling different products that are produced here and sell the utensils that the inhabitants need.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
