Felicia N. is forty-four years old and married with three children. Two of them are currently in senior high school while the others are in junior high school. She lives with her children and husband in their home in a fishing community called Aquase, near Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana.
Felicia is a seamstress by profession. She owns a workshop in the market square. She sews ladies’ dresses for sale and also sews for clients who come with their own materials and place an order. She purchases all kinds of fabrics from fashion shops in the big cities. She has apprentices who are in training, a number of whom have graduated and are now running their own businesses. Felicia has been in this business for twenty years and has won many customers over the years. She wants a loan to buy sewing accessories and fabrics in bulk to expand her business.
