Afia A. is twenty–three years old. She is single and lives independently. She lives alone in a rented apartment in a fishing community called Aquase, near Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana.
Afia says it is important for her to work hard to make income to support herself and to be financially prepared before she enters into marriage. Afia is a trader. She deals in provisions such as milk, sugar, candies, bread, etc. She procures the goods from the wholesale dealers in the regional capital, Cape Coast, and sells in her community. She owns a shop by the roadside from which she sells her goods.
Afia has been in this business for just one year and wants a loan to procure more goods to stock her shop.
