Ngai Peter Timngum is married with two children and lives in Belo, Cameroon. He has two businesses, which is common in Cameroon: he works as a shoe cobbler and raises pigs.

Peter provides valuable services to his community. By offering a local shoe repair service, people don’t have to travel to have their shoes repaired, so he is saving them time and money. And he is confident that because of his piggery, pig meat will always be available on Christmas and New Year.

With this loan, Peter plans to purchase materials to fix shoes, such as pins, shoe tacks, gum, plank nails, and carpenter nails. He will also purchase more food for his pigs. He is confident that his businesses will do well because he has been repairing shoes for some time now, and there is demand for piglets in his community.

This is Peter's second loan from GHAPE since he became a beneficiary in 2007. He chose GHAPE because of their preferable loan conditions and the small business training they provide. His first loan was smaller, and he used the profits from that to help purchase his piglet, which he continues to raise to this date. With the profits from his second loan, he will improve his businesses, help pay his children's school fees, and provide food for his family. With any remaining profits, he hopes to build a better house.
