Kiva, a San Francisco based non-profit with offices worldwide, has 75 people and 500+ volunteers.

Your Mission

Kiva is seeking a strong financial leader to provide stability and strategic guidance to the growing Kiva team. The CFO will play a central role in the continued growth of the organization. In addition to overseeing the financial health of the organization, the CFO will be responsible for maintaining a strong financial foundation as the organization grows.

Your Responsibilities

  • Executive Management: Serve as a member of Kiva's Management team; participate in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model and operational execution; assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and Kiva's long term strategy; Engage the board audit and investment committees around issues and trends.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Complete analysis of financial results; Maintain regular financial planning reports; Develop strategic and tactical recommendations; Assist in establishing yearly objectives.
  • Finance: Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed; oversee investments and asset management; Prepare revenue forecasts, monthly management reports, budget, and board reports.
  • Accounting and Administration: Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems for both Kiva Microfunds and Kiva User Funds; Maintain internal controls and financial procedures documents; Oversee the preparation and communication of quarterly and annual financial statements; Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns; Ensure regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions; Review all month-end closing activities; Oversee weekly cash management, A/P and A/R for both Kiva Microfunds and Kiva User Funds; Manage insurance program.
  • Analytics: Oversee analytics team and the development of tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the organization.

Your Profile

  • A minimum of a BS; a CPA and/or MBA would be a plus.
  • At least five years experience as CFO or equivalent, preferably in an organization with a budget of at least $10 million.
  • Deep knowledge of the banking industry and regulatory landscape.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills.
  • Low ego, tremendous integrity, highly ethical.
