April was recently named the Month of Microfinance (MoMF) - an entire month to explore microfinance’s role in ending poverty and creating opportunity, a chance to help others understand what it is and how it works. We hope you will join us at Kiva and our partners at MonthofMicrofinance.org, as we work to mobilize and engage students, teachers, everyone in the Month of Microfinance through participating in a book club, film screening, or several other event types.
Host a book club
Introduce your friends to microfinance with one of our recommended books. Never hosted a book club before? No problem! We have an example discussion guide to help out.
Screen a film
Hosting a screening is another great way to engage friends, family and colleagues with microfinance. Check out our recommended list, which includes widely-praised documentaries on women's empowerment, the Grameen Bank and more.
Check out our full list of recommended events for the Month of Microfinance, visit our friends with more ideas on the MoMF website, and get inspired by this Kiva blog post on nationwide activities from last year.
When you or your teammates host or participate in a MoMF event, be sure to share, tag, pin, like, or tweet about it! #kivamomf (If you include what you did, where you did it, and how many people were involved we will be able to tally our collective impact!)
