Choose a Venue
If you’re planning to host a community event, there are tons of great venues to pick from. As a general guideline, here's what we recommend:
Requirements:
-
Lending station table: set up at least one laptop/desktop where people can make a loan and join your team. We recommend keeping at least one person nearby to help with any first-time lender questions.
Recommended:
-
Easy access to public transportation, viable parking
-
Food/drinks
-
If applicable:
-
40-100 chairs
-
PA system and microphone
-
Podium for speakers to stand behind
-
Projector for Kiva presentation
Venue locations:
Many venues are willing to offer their space for free when working with not-for-profit organizations. A big turnout means more business and more publicity for the venue, as well as a more people that are introduced to Kiva!
