Kiva Detroit is the product of a partnership between Michigan Corps, ACCION USA, Knight Foundation and Kiva.

  • Michigan Corps is a community organization based in Detroit whose team conducts outreach to small businesses and lenders. Visit the Michigan Corps website.
  • ACCION USA is a microlender that trains the Michigan Corps small business outreach team. They also underwrite and administer all loans. Read their Kiva partner page
  • Knight Foundation, whose national mission is to promote informed and engaged communities, has provided a generous donation of $250,000 to support a Matching Loan Fund to double the impact of Kiva Detroit loans.

What is Kiva City?

Kiva City extends microfinance to small businesses across America. With Kiva City, Kiva Field Partners such as ACCION USA partner at a local level to facilitate the loans, while community groups like Michigan Corps build awareness among small business owners and refer them to the program.

Kiva Detroit is organized locally by Michigan Corps, which reaches out to Detroit small business owners and deepens the community engagement of Detroiters.
Generous support from the Knight Foundation has made Kiva Detroit possible.
