The “CORAZON DE JESUS CRISTAL" communal bank is beginning its fifth cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Senkata center. It's made up of twelve ladies and directed by a board of directors where Isabel serves as the president. The members have various types of businesses, including food sales, undergarment sales, cosmetic sales, sport clothing manufacture, blankets, flowers, sewing, t-shirts, building and chicken sales.
This loan will benefit their small businesses including Isabela's. She says that it's been two years since she joined Pro Mujer, having joined on the invitation of a promoter who visited her in her home. She currently has a blanket knitting business and says that she started this business with some yarn that she had and she decided to produce and sell it.
She will use the money from this loan to buy yarn at the fairs in El Alto and then sell the things she makes at her stall. This type of work allows her to generate some income to support her household because she is in a common law marriage and has six children.
When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she says that she likes the health care and loans.
