The communal bank "Madres Unidas" meets every two weeks in Los Bajos de Montecristi, a city known for its great variety of traditional products that are well-known nationally and internationally, such as the Montecristi (Panama) Hats that are made of woven straw. Rosa lives here. She is 55 years old and is married. She and her husband have 5 children who are all grown and are independent. Her husband no longer works due to his age. Rosa has a workshop in her house where she makes figurines made of woven straw. She and her husband make these figures in many designs that they later deliver to merchants who take them to other cities to sell at a very good price, because her products are traditional and are of good quality.
