She and her husband divorced eight years ago and, due to a combination of circumstances, Marhabo and her two children were left without any shelter or support. For the past eight years, Marhabo has been saving some money and running a little shop where she prepares and sells "pirozhki" (baked or fried buns). However, she doesn't have quite enough money to buy an apartment, and this is why she is asking for a loan. Her parents are both retired, and she cannot expect them to help her.
