| We loan because: | The "Invisible Hand", as the original idea of Adam Smith envisioned, aims to foster the entrepreneurial spirit so that the individual “By pursuing his own interest he frequently promotes that of the society more effectually than when he really intends to promote it.” (1776, Wealth of Nations) Control of poverty and development of individual freedom, channeled through economic progress, are the societal goals we aim to promote. It is our belief that as we foster entrepreneurship, economic prosperity follows, more jobs are created, and poverty is reduced. Meanwhile the individual gains financial independence, an essential key to individual freedom. Neither reduction in poverty or individual freedom were the original goals of the entrepreneur, but they are the unintended consequences from which all of us benefit. |
