Kiva Lender: MSC Learning by Loaning

I loan because: Why do we loan?
Someone may ask why a group of kids like us are giving money to people who are in third world countries. If you really think about it we are in the same boat. We are in trouble and have problems yet we are trying to change our lives. Everyday someone on Kiva is trying to change their life. I believe in order to move forward in life you have to change. This is just what these people are trying to do. We give loans not only to learn or to be a better person, but also to give ourselves and others a second chance. So why not give a loan?

About me: We are Maurice Spear Campus, a small school for at risk youth, operated by the Lenawee Intermediate School District in Adrian, Michigan. Our school is using KIVA as a vehicle to learn geography, current events and philanthropy. Our students raise money, manage funds and write proposals for potential loan candidates. They then learn about the countries, cultures, and political situations of their loan recipients
