Rosa\'s Clothing Business

This September, you helped fund a loan on Kiva to Rosa Maria Madrigal, who took out a loan in order to purchase clothes to sell in her clothing business. This morning we got the chance to check in with Rosa and see how things have been going with her business and her loan.

Using her loan, Rosa was able to purchase used clothing and school uniforms for students. She said her sales are "mas o menos" (so-so) and times are difficult here in Nicaragua, a sentiment I’ve heard from many clients.

Rosa primarily sells the clothing from her home. She also sometimes goes out into the neighborhood to sell, and she has a sister who sells for her in Managua’s free trade zone. Rosa also offers new clothes, which are her most popular product.

Rosa goes to the market to purchase the clothes she sells. She works every afternoon. After she pays back this loan, she hopes to take out another one for the same purpose. In the long run, her goal is to make improvements on her house.
