Razia M. Ramzan Group

My name is Razia. I am 40 years old and reside in a city named Lahore, Pakistan. I have been in this city for the last 14 years. My husband's name is M. Ramzan; he is a cobbler by profession. He takes orders from the shoe companies and earns money. Razia baji runs a grocery shop in her house in which she sells kitchen items (lentils, cooking oil, spices, rice). She has three years of experience in handling this business. She has successfully repaid her two loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying again for a loan to buy groceries to sell.

She is the group leader of four other women from her locality. Shamim baji wants a loan to buy seasonal fruits for her fruit-selling business. Sardaran baji wants a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop. Najma baji wants a loan to buy mason tools. Naziran baji wants a loan to buy wood for her furniture-making & selling business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.





About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
